DATES SET FOR CANBERRA Three days, Wednesday22nd, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th of November have been chosen for the inaugural Interstate 0/60 Cricket Carnival in Canberra this year. ACT Cricket CEO, Mark Vergano,Senior Administrators from ACT Ministry of Sport, David Moore and Wayne Lacey and a number of ACT club officials will confer with John Hammer in Canberra on Wednesday to assist in identifying suitable ovals, a venue for a windup dinner and some early contact details of prospective 0/60 players in ACT. As has been our preferred option, adjoining ovals will be sought so that the four state teams will be based at the same venue for each of their three matches. The Ministry of Sport, ACT has kindly made a meeting room available on Wednesday in their offices for a series of conferences with cricketers in Canberra interested in the 0/60 concept. John will be armed with a couple of videos, sets of the 0/60 rules as compiled at the AGM and lots of photos. It is expected that a core of 0/60 men will be given the task of building a local ACT squad in preparation for the carnival.
